The Top Dog Accelerated Hockey Program is a program for the average to above average player. It is a great program for players that enjoy a challenge, take their game seriously and want to learn to play at a higher level.

Morning Ice Sessions
Morning Ice Sessions include 1.25 hours of ice
time devoted to high intensity training on each player's individual skill.
Overspeed drills for skating, in-stride and off-stride shooting, puck control,
passing and checking.
Classroom Sessions
Classroom Sessions include time to set daily
and weekly goals, and time to receive feedback on players videotape analysis
including individual play and team play. In addition, players will receive
instructions on "read and react" strategies and game situations.
Dryland Training
Dryland Sessions will teach several different off ice activities, designed for the ultimate off ice training experiences shooting range, stick handling stations, team building exercises, lacrosse and roller hockey games all designed to improve on-ice performance. Players take part in fitness testing, and receive individualized fitness test results.
Afternoon Ice Sessions
Afternoon Ice Sessions includes 1.25 hours of
ice time with emphasis on game situations including team and positional
concepts such as forechecking, backchecking, offensive cycling, team support,
read and react drills, forward and defense responsibilities such as gap
control, angling and sealing.
Instructional Games
Instructional Games includes 50 minutes of ice
time to allow players the opportunity to use their newly learned skills
in game situations. Games will be videotaped and reviewed in classroom sessions.
Videotape Analysis
Videotape Analysis is a major teaching tool
at Top Dog. On ice sessions and instructional games are videotaped, reviewed,
analyzed and broken down in the classroom so that each player receives specific
and personalized attention.
Stickhandling Circuits
Stickhandling Circuits are designed to improve
dribbling, deking, fakes, moves, puck protection, and scoring. Players will
also receive a copy of the circuit to use at home to further improve their
skills.
Goaltenders
Goaltenders attending will follow the same camp
schedule as all other players. Goalies will work with instructors during
morning ice time to provide goalies the attention they need to develop their
skills and self-confidence. Afternoon ice time and instructional games give
each goalie time in the net to take pucks, practice their newly acquired
skills and have fun.
