Top Dog Hockey Camps are run by John Haglund, who has over 34 years of experience operating high-quality hockey camps. Over the years, Top Dog has trained more than 35K players, many of whom return year after year to get the best hockey training. John also coaches AAA hockey and has been instrumental in the Shakopee Youth Hockey program for 30 + years. John was also a former player & coach at Minnesota State, Mankato.

Coach Haglund continues his mission to operate hockey programs that not only help to further each player's skill development, but also help to further each player's love for the game of hockey.

Brian Thul brings 15+ years of experience coaching at summer hockey camps to Top Dog Hockey. Brian is also a teacher at Fair Oaks Elementary School, and Chair of the Armstrong-Cooper Hockey Association board. Brian was also a former Division One hockey referee for the Big Ten and WCHA.

Bill McClellan brings 35+ years of experience coaching at summer hockey camps to Top Dog Hockey. Bill is currently the head coach at St. Paul Academy High School and has coached with USA hockey since 2004. He also attended and played hockey at Augsburg University, MN.

Matt Penner brings 12+ years of experience coaching at summer hockey camps to Top Dog Hockey. Matt is currently teaching and coaching at St. Louis Park High School. He played varsity hockey for Moorhead High School and won two state bantam titles in 2004.

John Raymond brings 15+ years of experience coaching at summer hockey camps to Top Dog Hockey. John is currently a math teacher and coach in the Bloomington school district. He played college hockey at Hamline University, MN.

Jack Haglund has 9+ years of experience coaching at Top Dog Hockey. Jack is an excellent teacher/motivator of hockey skills and overall game knowledge. Jack currently attends St. John’s University and is pursuing a major in Health Communication. He also attended Top Dog Hockey camps and Bulldogs AAA for 10 years.

Goalie Coach - Soren Pederson has 6+ years of experience teaching in summer camps. Soren is pursuing a biology major and doctorate at Saint John’s University. Soren attended Top Dog Hockey for 4+ years.

Greg Sears has 16+ years of experience with Top Dog Hockey Camps.  He is a former Assistant Coach for the Coulee Region Chill in the NAHL, and has 8 years experience as a WI Prep Head Coach.  Greg is coached the U18 AAA Atlanta Fire.  He is also a former player for Northwest Wisconsin Knights (MJHL), and he is currently the coach of the NA3 Great Falls Americans in Montana.

Peter Orchard has been working at Top Dog summer camps for 11+ years.  Peter is a Vice Principal at Jackson Elementary School, and a former High School Hockey Coach.

Justin Grant has 16+ years of experience in summer camps.  He is a former college goalie at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin.  Justin also played professional hockey for the Quad City Mallards (CHL/ECHL)  Currently, Justin is a Minnesota High School Goalie Coach. 

Dan Bauer has 25+ years experience teaching at Top Dog summer camps.  He is a teacher at Wausau High School and resigned last year as the Boys Head Hockey Coach in order to be the assistant coach for the Central Wisconsin Storm which his daughters play for.   Most recently Coach Bauer's  coached the  2022 Girls Central Wisconsin Storm to the state championship!
