WE LOVE FEEDBACK!

John:

I just wanted to say how impressed I was with the training my son received at your weeklong hockey camp.  He attended the Accelerated Camp 1 in St. Paul, MN in the beginning of August.  Since the camp, I have had numerous people, including a travel coach, tell me how much my son’s skating has improved and how good he looked on the ice!  These individuals were impressed.  This is the first time I ever had compliments on my son’s hockey ability!  Everyone asked me what camp he went too!  My son has attended numerous hockey camps and Top Dog was the one that seemed to deliver.  My son also really enjoyed it too.  This was the first hockey camp he went too, that he didn’t know anyone (since we live out of state) but was still was excited to attend camp everyday.  This camp helped my son’s confidence and really upped his hockey abilities.  We will definitely take our son back to your camp.

Thank you again for providing this amazing experience!

John,

"We attended your camp this last weekend and have to say, you guys did an amazing job! Porter loves every minute of it and it challenges him to skate at another level! Thanks again and we will be back next year!"

Google Review: July 2025

Dear Top Dog Staff,

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. This is one of the best run camps I have experienced. Of course the hockey instruction is top notch, but the organization as a whole is what will surprise you.

There were no checked-out teenage coaches on their cell phones serving as coaches. The coaches were professionals and any adolescent assistant coaches on staff are professional and model the behavior I hope to see in my own kids when they are young adults.

There is a no cell phone policy (with ample ways to use one with supervision if needed), and they don't put the kids in front of the TV or a screen to keep them quiet during transitions.

The only "screen time" my son mentioned was a movie they watched in parts over the whole week. It was sports themed and motivational, and i'm not even sure they made it through the whole thing in the course of the week.

The lunch plan is well thought out even though it is geared to kid tastes. It is definitely not broccoli and grilled chicken, but John does a great job giving choices that are reasonable and still desirable to the students.

My son noticed zero physical or relational aggression at the camp. This tells me that these coaches not only know hockey, but they are also pretty good at directing the off ice actions of a gaggle of kiddos with half-baked frontal lobes.

This camp is slightly more expensive than another hockey camp we did, but the other camp left a lot to be desired. Well worth the extra 10% or so in sticker price.
